The install process checks that your system meets the minimum requirements if they are not met, Dragon NaturallySpeaking will not be installed. These are the manufactures minimum system requirements. To do this, you must use the software Dragon Naturally Speaking 12. "legacy" devices are fully compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and have been successfully tested in the past but are no longer commercially available. I can think of no reason why "Dell laptops are not compatible" since they use the same Intel and AMD parts I think the operative phrase is "Dell does not sell or support Dragon Naturally Speaking software."
